Hello World,
So nice to see you again! All green, leafy, and springy. Sounds like a salad, huh? Good to see my lawn again after the Ficus tree decided to poop leaves all over it after the freeze.
Yes, it froze for a night or two and those nights wreaked havoc on my neighbor's ficus tree! This tree is HUGE and is on the border between our lots. It is now bald - tragically bald. And its leaves decided to fall all over my yard. I spent the better part of Saturday raking this tree's poopy leaves (yes, a stray cat considered this his litter box), hunching over, putting them in bags (20 bags total) and now I can see my lawn for the 1st time in weeks. Of course, now I am sore.....very, very sore from the backs of my legs up to my neck. And the point I'm trying to make is this: I HATE FICUS TREES! I wish a plague on this ficus in particular! How dare it decide to shed all over my yard and not in its own! And the neighbors you ask? Oh, they did their yard the day after and only had about 5 bags full. So not fair!
Ficus trees, I declare you my sworn yard enemy!

Auld Lang Syne
Happy New Year. Or not.
January is here. January 2010. Wow! And the full 2nd week back at school and Ron has gotten an afternoon suspension. Yes, a partial suspension. Why, you ask? If you want his answer it's because I'm an awful mother who doesn't care a lick about her son, and his teacher is an awful teacher who doesn't like him either. And the world is a horrible place, and he has the worst life EVER!
What happened is that he didn't get his much needed 8-10 hours of sleep which resulted in him being uncooperative and argumentative with his teacher, not to mention the fact that he decided to try to give the keyboard some love "taps" to help it cooperate with him. Subsequently, he got sent to the office -the Principal's Office. Guess what that means. Seriously, guess. Yup, that means I got summoned to the principal's office.
Basically I was told to talk to him about his behavior and to take him home for the rest of the day. But in the referral, it said partial day suspension. I don't know about anyone else, but the one time I got suspended for 2 days, it was hard labor. Clean all of my house and my friend's house (who was my partner in crime). He, on the other hand, got to come to my work, and finish his school work. Plus, no video games, computer, or cartoons. And I made him pack up his favorite toys to put away till he earns them back.
Man, what do you do with that? It's his 1st ever real trouble in school. I know the punishment may seem not too harsh, but all of those things are things he loves. I mean, how are you supposed to get your point across?
*Update*
So, Friday, we get called in again. Seems his BFF, with whom he has a like/hate relationship with, picked on him once to much and hell ensued. While we were there, the BFF tries to bait him into getting into more trouble. He was not suspended, but I did take him home for hard labor. And that is what he spent the majority of the weekend doing, helping me wash clothes, helping his grandparents take down their Christmas lights, helping out in general. He would get 15 minutes here and there for "down" time, where he could draw, listen to music or read.
Here we are today and I'm hoping he has a good day.
